Ask Jesus*

*Ask Jesus*  _By Prince Eudes_  In REVELATION 3:20 NKJ 20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Although this verse has been used to encourage sinners to receive Jesus, it is actually addressed to those who are already believers. Jesus is not a gate-crasher. He only enters the areas of your life into which He is invited. It is a common mistake to reserve areas of our lives which we do not invite Jesus to enter. But we need His help in everything. He is our Savior, the One who can deliver us. Remember, Jesus did not come to condemn us but to deliver us from bondage. He proved how much He loves us by dying to save us. JOHN 3:17 NKJ 17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. We cannot hide anything from God. He knows our every thought already. Yet He loves us and desires to help us. But He allows us...

*Help Someone Today*

*Help Someone Today*    _By Prince Eudes_  PHILIPPIANS 2:4 NKJ 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Every person you see today is a person God loves. (Just like you and me, they probably don't deserve God's love, but He loves them anyway.) God would appreciate you helping them -- on His behalf. Jesus said that His followers would be known by our love. That has to mean that people will see our love expressed through giving help to others. JOHN 13:35 NKJ 35 "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." The Holy Spirit is a Helper. When we allow Him to indwell us, we will also become helpers. JOHN 15:26 NKJ 26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. None of us can help everyone. But all of us can help the one in front of us. Even if it is just giving a smile, a word...

*The Treasure of Faith*

 * The Treasure of Faith *   _By Prince Eudes_  Spiritual legacies begin with God’s faithful ones—will others learn of Christ through you? November 25, 2023 2 Timothy 1:5-14 Where does faith come from? It’s a gift of God, ultimately, but the Bible repeatedly points to the value of a faithful life. One example is the apostle Paul’s disciple, Timothy, whose mother and grandmother were strong role models of faith. We know nothing of Lois or Eunice beyond the mention of them in 2 Timothy 1:5. They are probably the reason the young minister had known “the sacred writings” of Scripture all his life—from these devout women, in other words, he had received “the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:15). But what about those of us without a legacy like Timothy’s? Paul spoke to that as well, saying that God “saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace” (1:9). Like ...

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

*Count Your Blessings*  By Prince Eudes EPHESIANS 1:3 NLT 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. An old song says: "Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done." It's easy to lose perspective. We all face challenges and difficulties in life. And if we are not on guard, they can divert our attention from all the Lord has done for us. Yes, you may face obstacles, but you need to remember the man who complained that he had no shoes till he saw a man who had no feet. We may not have everything we would like, but we all have something to be thankful for. Your children may be a challenge, but at least you have children. Your spouse may tempt you to pull your hair out, but there are millions who would gladly trade places with you. Your boss may be ruthless, but there are many in the world who would literall...

Every Sunday Is a Little Easter

Every Sunday Is a Little Easter Each time we die to self and live for Christ, we experience anew the gift of the resurrection. November 23, 2023 John 12:20-24 As winter approaches, we watch leaves fall and flowers fade—even the grass withers. As everything around us changes and in some cases disappears for a time, we can take comfort in the words of Jesus from today’s passage. He knew that when His death came, it would seem final to the disciples, so He planted these words in their hearts to help them understand. When He was raised from the dead, they realized He had prepared them, as one poet put it, to practice resurrection. How do we practice resurrection? We haven’t died yet, after all! First, we let go of our old ways of living, our selfish desires, and our pride (2 Cor. 5:17). In doing this, we experience a kind of death—one from which we are “made alive in the spirit” (1 Pet. 3:18). Second, we embrace the faith and hope Jesus provided. This happens in a powerful way every ...

Acquiring Discernment

Acquiring Discernment When we view God's insight as a precious treasure, He reveals all we need to know. November 17, 2023 WORD BY PRINCE EUDES  Proverbs 2:1-11 Discernment is the ability to make sound judgments by perceiving what is not readily obvious, and it is critical to our life in God. For example, what should you do when you want to follow the Lord but have multiple choices that appear promising and good? How can you know if you’re hearing from God or simply listening to your own desires? All we have to do is ask. Proverbs 2 says, “If you cry out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding … then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and discover the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding” (vv. 3-6). Those verses are a clear promise from God that when we ask for insight, He will answer. Though discernment doesn’t appear overnight, it does develop when we “search for her as for hidden treasures” (v. 4)....

Heaven Is A Happy Place

Heaven Is A Happy Place MESSAGE BY PRINCE EUDES  PSALM 16:11 NKJ 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Heaven is where God is fully manifest and in His presence there is fullness of joy. That's why Heaven is a happy place! FULLNESS OF JOY! We have never yet experienced that, but in Heaven we will. REVELATION 21:4 NKJ 4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." In Heaven there will be nothing that will ever cause unhappiness. Everything will always be perfect. LUKE 15:10 NKJ 10 "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Angels are smiling, not frowning. God is not mad. No one in Heaven is having a bad day. No one is struggling. ROMANS 14:17 NKJ 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and ...

How To Have A Great Marriage

How To Have A Great Marriage MESSAGE FROM PRINCE EUDES  It's simple -- but you will need God's help to do it. JOHN 15:12 NIV 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Love as Jesus loved! Be willing to lay down your life to bless your spouse. Few would ever want to get rid of a spouse who truly practices this principle. The ingredients for having a great marriage are the same as having any great relationship: communication, honesty, commitment, kindness, and attention. If your aim is to bless your spouse and make them happy, it is very likely they will eventually respond by loving you. If you are the only one in your marriage practicing this, it can be difficult. But your only other choice is to treat them badly in return. How can that produce anything good? You are God's representative. He put you where you are so He could express His love through you. God loves your spouse -- whether you think they deserve it or not. The Bible teaches us to put the int...

God Rules in Your Circumstances

God Rules in Your Circumstances God's light often shines brightest through us in our darkest moments. November 12, 2023 Philippians 1:12-20 If you could change your present circumstances, would you? Most of us would say yes. Even if we’re experiencing relatively peaceful and comfortable conditions, we can always imagine a better life. And those of us enduring difficult, painful, or trying situations long to see the burden lifted. But as everyone knows, there are some circumstances over which we have no control. We can’t maneuver our way out, so our only option is to go through them. As redeemed children of God, however, it’s important to remember this: We are exactly where God wants us, because His sovereignty rules over all our situations at all times. Let’s look at Paul. He was sitting in a Roman prison, chained to a guard after a fruitful ministry of sharing the gospel. But even though the Lord brought him into difficult circumstances, His work in and through Paul didn’t stop. A...

Topic: The Power of Gratitude

Topic: The Power of Gratitude By Prince Eudes  MESSAGE FROM PRINCE EUDES    Scriptures: 1. Psalm 100:4-5 (NIV): "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." 2. Colossians 3:15 (NIV): "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." 3. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV): "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 4. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." 5. Psalm 106:1 (NIV): "Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD,...

Lord, Teach Us to Pray

Lord, Teach Us to Pray Keep talking to the Lord—He always welcomes you, just as you are. November 12, 2023 Matthew 9:35-38 When it comes to prayer, there are two common pitfalls to be aware of. First, when it’s unclear what to pray, some people choose not to pray at all. And second, many believers settle into a lifeless form of praying that leaves them feeling hollow and disconnected from God. Both situations lead to discontentment and frustration. As Christians, we know that we should pray, even if doing so seems daunting. But far more than any sense of obligation we may feel, it’s wise to recognize that God intended prayer as a blessing for His children: Communing with Him is a fundamental way of experiencing His fullness. We have much to gain by praying—including peace, comfort, wisdom, and God’s very presence. So it would be tragic to give up on trying. And remember, when we communicate with God, there’s no measuring stick or scorecard. A fumbling yet heartfelt attem...

Expect God's Protection

Expect God's Protection We should expect God's protection, and thank Him for it. But we must remember that we receive from God by faith. So if we don't believe God will protect us, we are, in effect, hindering God's protection. So we need to feed our faith on the promises of the Bible concerning God's protection for His people. There are many, but here are two. ISAIAH 54:17 GWN 17 No weapon that has been made to be used against you will succeed. You will have an answer for anyone who accuses you. This is the inheritance of the LORD's servants. Their victory comes from me," declares the LORD. LUKE 10:19 NKJ 19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Then we also need to express our faith in thanks to God every day for His protection. The ninety-first Psalm can help us do this. I suggest you make it personal and speak it often. CONFESSION BASED ...

What If Things Don't Seem To Be Working?

What If Things Don't Seem To Be Working? PRINCE EUDES  GALATIANS 6:9 ESV 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. What should you do when it seems like God has forgotten you and you are about to perish? Act on God's Word! Speak to the mountain! Rejoice in the Lord! Stand in faith! Continue to thank God! Expect God's help! Don't ever give in or give up! Realize God is not the problem. God is perfect. He never fails and never makes a mistake. God is helping you as much as you are allowing Him. You probably do need to change some things. After all, none of us are perfectly mature yet. We are all learning and growing. But don't make the mistake of putting yourself down and accepting the devil's idea that you are so hopeless that nothing can work out for you. God will gently guide you in making whatever changes you need to make. God is there to help you, not to condemn you. If it does not seem like things are ...

Persevere in Passing Down Your Faith

Persevere in Passing Down Your Faith MESSAGE FROM PRINCE EUDES  Our efforts may at times look like failures, but that doesn’t mean God has stopped working through us to achieve His purposes. November 11, 2023 James 1:2-4 Is there someone with whom you’ve consistently but unsuccessfully tried to share Jesus? It can be disheartening, but God’s Word encourages us to not grow weary of doing good ( 2 Thess. 3:13 ). That’s the third way to pass along your faith: perseverance. Yesterday we read about how to tell loved ones about Jesus through our actions, but doing something once or even a few times isn’t enough. There must be consistency. Does what you believe have merit in small situations as well as in major ones? Do you still trust God in those times when circumstances look impossible? How do you react when things don’t go your way? What do you do when life gets tough? Do you keep loving others no matter what? Don’t be discouraged or feel guilty when you fall short. We all are ...

BEING HAPPY IN CHRIST

Being Happy in Christ By Prince Eudes  KATAIKE ELESI IN CAPTION Finding happiness and fulfillment in life is a universal desire. As Christians, we have the unique opportunity to experience true joy and contentment by being in a relationship with Jesus Christ. When we surrender our lives to Him and place our faith in Him, we discover a profound sense of happiness that transcends temporary circumstances. Here are a few reasons why we can find happiness in Christ: 1. Redemption and Forgiveness: The knowledge that Jesus Christ willingly sacrificed Himself for our sins brings us immense joy. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven and reconciled with God. This assurance of eternal life fills us with happiness and hope (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, Romans 5:9). 2. Unconditional Love: God's love for us is beyond measure. No matter our faults, failures, or shortcomings, His love remains constant and unwavering. This unending love fills our hearts with joy, knowing that we ar...

Prosperity Pleases God

Prosperity Pleases God By Prince Eudes  PSALM 35:27 NKJ 27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, "Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant." Do you enjoy seeing your children -- or anyone you love -- suffer lack? Jesus taught us that God our Heavenly Father's love for us is much better than any earthly parent's love (Matthew 7:11). What kind of perverted being would God be if He delighted in seeing His people suffer? (The only kind of suffering that pleases God is when we are willing to be inconvenienced so that others will be helped.) Ultimately, poverty is the result of an operation by the devil attempting to dis-please God. But it will not continue to succeed. To achieve his plan, the devil has tried to confuse Christians into thinking that being poor pleased God, and that being poor was a sign of spirituality. This is a lie! (But being rich is not a dependable sign of s...

Sleep Is A Gift From God

Sleep Is A Gift From God By Prince Eudes  PSALM 127:2 NKJ 2 . . . He gives His beloved sleep. PROVERBS 3:24 NKJ 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. PSALM 3:5 NKJ 5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. PSALM 4:8 NKJ 8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. We can trust in God and sleep even when we face the storms of life, just as Jesus and Peter did in the following verses. MARK 4:38 NKJ 38 But He was . . . asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" ACTS 12:6 NKJ 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers . . . Jesus Approves Rest MARK 6:31 NKJ 31 And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have...

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful By Prince Eudes  ECCLESIASTES 3:11a NKJ 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Everyone is beautiful to God. And the world will eventually see what God sees in people. God saw you as so valuable that He judged it was worthwhile to die for you. The death of the Son of God was a huge price to pay for you. You are valuable! You may not be what the current world system calls beautiful. But you are beautiful to God -- the only Judge who really matters. God created you, and as it has been said, "God doesn't make junk." EPHESIANS 2:10 NLT 10 For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. God has a wonderful eternal purpose for you, and He has not made a mistake in your life. Your body may be presently imperfect -- or even disfigured. But you must realize that the body you are now living in is not you. You live in that body just like you live in a house. The real you ...

Does Love Always Give

Does Love Always Give? By Prince Eudes  Love gives! Without giving there is no proof of love. However, love does not always give what is being requested. For love seeks the best for the other person. If what is being requested is not the best, then love will not grant that request. LUKE 6:30 NASB 30 "Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. This verse tells us to give to everyone who asks something of us, but it does not say that we have to give them exactly what they request. We are only instructed to give them something. This is not a cop-out, but a necessary understanding of truth. Otherwise, our actions could be compelled by the demands of people instead of being directed by our Lord Jesus. Luke 6:30 shows the attitude we should have, of always being a giver, but it should not be made into a law that could bind us and open us up to exploitation by the devil. ACTS 3:6 NASB 6 But Peter said, "I do not possess silver an...

Do All Things Work Together For Good?

Do All Things Work Together For Good? By Prince Eudes Do All Things Work Together For Good? Many Christians would instantly say "Yes!" And a quick look at Romans 8:28 in many Bible translations seems to confirm their answer. But is that what Romans 8:28 really means? ROMANS 8:28 NASB 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. ROMANS 8:28 NIV 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love⁶  him, who have been called according to his purpose. While several translations can give us a different view on this (like both of those above), it is not necessary for us to judge translations or learn the meaning of Greek words to realize some basic facts. First, if everything that happened was good for us, then God would never tell us to resist or refrain from anything. (And He does!) Therefore, everything is not God's will for us. Neither can we consider every...

The Love Of God

The Love Of God By Prince Eudes  Bible Book: 1 John  4 : 7-15 Subject: God, Love of; Love of God Introduction From Genesis to Revelation, from earth's greatest tragedy to earth's greatest triumph, the dramatic story of man's lowest depths and God's highest heights can be couched into a condensation of twenty-five beautiful words: "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Love has been rightly called the greatest thing in the world. In this section John tells us that "God is Love". This is the heart of the New Testament and the Christian Gospel. Christianity is the only religion, which can claim that its God is love. When you say Mohammed is love, Allah is love, or Zeus is love, it just does not sound right. Because none of the so-called gods of the religions of the world can be called love, this is one of the distinctives of Christianity "Philosop...

WHAT IS THE HOLY COMMUNION?

WHAT IS THE HOLY COMMUNION? BY PRINCE EUDES  The Holy Communion, known also as the Lord’s Supper, represents the greatest expression of God’s love for His people. Two items are used in the Holy Communion—the bread which represents Jesus’ body that was scourged and broken before and during His crucifixion, and the cup which represents His shed blood. When Jesus walked on earth, He was vibrant, and His body was full of life and health. He was never sick. But before Jesus went to the cross, He was badly scourged by the Roman soldiers, and His body was torn as He hung on the cross. At the cross, God also took all our sicknesses and diseases and put them on Jesus’ originally perfect and healthy body, so that we can walk in divine health. That is why the Bible says by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). In Luke 22:20, Jesus tells us that the cup is the “new covenant in My blood”, and the apostle Paul tells us that the blood of Jesus brings forgiveness of sins (C...
